About us
Founded in Norway by two friends.

“Two simple boys with one simple dream.”
Our vision
Our vision is to create a chess experience out of the ordinary, one that challenges both body and mind and brings people together across backgrounds and abilities.
By combining blindfold chess with the intense heat of the sauna, we put concentration, visualization and endurance to the test. At the same time, we want to create an arena where sight is not a prerequisite for competing. In blind sauna chess, blind and visually impaired players get the chance to compete on equal terms with sighted players, and perhaps even have an advantage for once.
For us, inclusion is about more than opening the doors to everyone. It is about creating a competition where different circumstances can become a strength, and where everyone has the chance to surprise both themselves and others.
The goal is to gather players from around the world in Røyken, Norway, to take part in something different, demanding and memorable. The World Blind Sauna Chess Championship should be more than a competition. It should be a meeting place for people, perspectives and achievements that challenge the expected.
At its core, WBSCC is about curiosity, creativity and the willingness to think differently. Chess has a long history, but we believe that even a traditional game can be experienced in entirely new ways, and that these new ways can give more people the chance to shine.
